Dive into the Dark
Night Diving
Scuba diving during daytime is awesome, but what about night diving?
Night diving is quite a unique and beautiful experience and is always full of surprises. When you descend under water at night you’ll discover a whole different world.
During a night dive you will see a different marine life than during a dive at daylight. Parts of the marine creatures which sleep during the day and are active after sunset.
Many shrimps, lobsters and crabs leaving their hiding spots and can be admired by you. Also, hunting Tarpons and octopuses will passing by. At night, the colorful coral polyps open to feed, drawing nutrients from the passing currents.
The colors of the reef and its marine life may appear more vibrant to you as well during your night dive, enlightened by the beam of your dive light. An awesome experience!
We will plan your night dive carefully: we will choose a dive site you are familiar with, has an easy entrance and has as less current as possible so we can dive slowly. Before its getting dark, we will already set up all our dive gear, do the briefing and explain the proper use of the dive light. After enjoying one of the beautiful sunsets here on Bonaire, we gear up and enter the water when there is still a little bit of light. That gives you some time to get accustomed with the new circumstances to fully enjoy the underwater world at night.
Let Dive Experience Bonaire help you with everything you need for this adventure! Even if you are not new to night diving, there is always more to explore and to discover!
Dive off the Beaten track
East Coast Diving
The east coast of Bonaire is often called the ‘wild side’ because of its high waves and stronger currents. Diving here is also possible when the wind and weather condition are favourable. Then it is a true diving adventure and you will experience a complete different underwater world than on the west coast of Bonaire. The condition there attract many turtles, lobsters, sharks, spotted eagle rays, sting rays, schools of tarpons and even mantas have been spotted there. The reef is intact and sponges, as well as sea fans, can be enormous between the amazing coral formations. Nevertheless, the diving at the east coast is not for beginners and requires some extra planning due to the current and possible high waves. So if you are an experienced diver and would like to dive the east site from shore, contact us for more information.
