Andy
FOUNDER & INSTRUCTOR
Hello friends, I’m Andy, the owner and founder of Dive Experience Bonaire. I am thrilled to be your personal dive guide during your trip to divers’ paradise and I cannot wait to show you our beautiful underwater world of Bonaire.
Teaching scuba diving lessons and guiding new or experienced divers is not just a profession for me, but it is my passion. I am a certified PADI instructor, and my main focus is safety and ocean conservation. My goal is to bring students to their full underwater potential through a positive and enthusiastic mentorship.
Before scuba diving, my love of sports led me to a 20-year vocation as a karate and gymnastics teacher. My professional diving career began in 2015 in my home country: the Netherlands. I had the good fortune of diving in many different conditions and environments around the world. Including Egypt, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Fiji. In 2019 I returned to Bonaire as a tourist, and never left. As we say on Bonaire: “Once a visitor, always a friend.” Let me be your personal dive guide or instructor and give you the full dive experience on Bonaire!
Mareike
DIVING INSTRUCTOR
Mareike is one of our freelance dive instructors. Her first diving experience was in a swimming pool during a chemistry lesson about the principles of gas absorption in the blood. She loved being under water and got the exercises quickly mastered.
A few years later, on a holiday in Australia, she did her first PADI DSD, which is where her diving career started. Back in Germany she got her PADI Open Water certification. While travelling to the Maldives and Seychelles, she got certified as Advanced and Rescue Diver.
During a 3-month stay on the Seychelles she followed an internship to become a PADI Dive Master. In the cold waters of the Netherlands she became a PADI instructor then, where she also taught diving for two years. After moving to Bonaire she followed her passion and worked as a full-time diving instructor on this beautiful island.
Students say about Mareike that she is the calmness herself underwater which gives them the confidence to relax and master the skills they have to train. Her favourite dive sites on Bonaire are Red Beryl and Nucove.
Robin
DIVING INSTRUCTOR
Robin, our freelance dive instructor, has lived on Bonaire for more than 10 years and therefore knows a lot about the island.
Before coming to Bonaire, he was a police officer in the Netherlands. From time to time you can still find him patrolling the streets there as a police volunteer.
Robin is an experienced PADI instructor with a great sense of humor who can also teach you a lot PADI specialties. When you ask him about his hobbies, he says with a smile: Hunting lion fish at night!
Can you guess what his favorite course to teach is? Of course the PADI lion fish hunter specialty course!
